Where to Go Christmas Tree Shopping in San Francisco

Whether you’re looking for an outing full of holiday cheer complete with Santa and hot chocolate, a no-fuss, grab-and-go option, or something in between, we’ve rounded up the best places in and around San Francisco to find your perfect Christmas tree.

Santa’s Tree Farm & Village (Half Moon Bay)

If you’re looking for a holiday outing where getting your tree becomes a magical, family-friendly event, look no further than Santa’s Tree Farm & Village in Half Moon Bay. It’s a cut-your-own-tree experience where you can wander acres of beautiful trees to find that perfect one. The fun doesn’t stop there! Enjoy a festive village with Santa visits, train rides, and sweet treats on select weekends, too. And if you want to experience the festive environment without all the sawing, pre-cut options are available.

The Guardsmen Tree Lot

The Guardsmen Tree Lot is an only-in-SF holiday favorite that transforms Fort Mason’s Festival Pavilion into a winter wonderland. Run entirely by volunteers, it has everything you need to decorate for Christmas with trees, wreaths, garlands, and ornaments. Between the bar for adults and bounce houses for kids, it’s impossible not to get in the holiday spirit when visiting. All proceeds benefit Bay Area youth programs, so if you want your holiday purchase to benefit local youth, this is the place for you. Be sure to grab your tree before they close on December 18th.

Clancy’s Christmas Trees

Family-run since 1949, Clancy’s is a San Francisco tradition. It’s a friendly and cozy tree lot with a dose of the holiday spirit right in the city. Clancy’s has two locations - one at 7th and Lawton and another on Sloat by the Zoo - and has helpful services like delivery, flocking, and flame retardant. It’s also dog-friendly and has easy parking.

Christmas Tree Jamboree (ABC Tree Farms)

Christmas Tree Jamboree is a reliable city lot with great selection and helpful staff to streamline the process. They have beautiful pre-cut trees plus wreaths and garland. They offer complimentary trimming, fresh cuts, and tree loading, and also have services like adding a base and water bowl to streamline the process. They’re open daily and open late.

Delancey Street

Delancey Street is another tree lot that allows you to put your Christmas tree dollars toward a great cause. Proceeds go toward the Delancey Street Foundation, a self-help organization that helps former substance abusers and ex-convicts rebuild their lives. This lot is located at Pier 32 (and they have a second location on Telegraph Avenue in Oakland).

Lowe’s

If you’re looking for a no-frills, no-fuss, get-in-and-out option that keeps the holidays simple and stress-free, Lowe’s has you covered. It’s perfect for anyone who wants a tree without turning it into an outing.
