Foundations is a 5-week program for first-time expectant parents who want to prepare for the actual transition to parenthood.
Most prenatal prep focuses on labor and newborn care. We built Foundations to focus on the things new parents wish they had prepared for: how your relationship changes overnight, defining your parenting values, navigating the SF childcare landscape, and who you’re going to be on the other side. Our expert-led classes give you the knowledge you need to be prepared, and you can do it all while surrounded by families going through it with you at the same as you.
Modern motherhood can feel lonely, but it doesn’t have to be. We built the program we wished we had access to.

The
Curriculum
1) Parenting Values and Your Family Culture
Most couples don’t talk about what kind of parents they want to be. This session creates space for intentional conversations about discipline, values, schools, family involvement, and what a good childhood actually means to you.
2) Sleep
Before anyone asks if the baby is sleeping, you need a plan. Learn what early sleep actually looks like, how to divide night duty sustainably, and how to make decisions about sleep approach before you're too tired to make them.
3) Birth & Beyond
Preparation is Power. Learn how to build your birth plan, advocate for yourself in the delivery room, and navigate the fourth trimester from mood shifts, physical recovery, to the loneliness that can hit even in a full city.
4) Prenatal Workout
Staying active during pregnancy is one of the best things you can do for yourself, but most people don't know where to start. This class focuses on core stability, pelvic floor awareness, and functional strength for the pregnant body.
5) Social
A chance to step away from the curriculum and just be with the people in the room. Some of the most valuable connections you'll make in early parenthood are the ones formed before the baby arrives — with people who are in exactly the same season of life.
"Being an expectant first time mom is the epitome of "you don't know what you don't know" and Green Street Social Foundations answered so many questions like: "Is the weighted sleep sack I found on Amazon safe?" Will I still love my partner at 3am after hours of the baby crying non-stop? and "What details need to be included in a birth plan and why am I only learning of this days before my induction."
In addition to the logistical aspects of new parenthood, the program exemplified the power of community. It was so amazing connecting with couples at the same stage of pregnancy with the same fears, excitement, and joy!”
— Kate T“Since getting pregnant with our first child, we were committed to preparing by exploring new parenting resources and building a supportive community. However, it was tough to know where to start. The Green Street Social Foundations program took the research and decision-making out of that for us, making it incredibly easy to dive in with confidence.
One immediate win was getting to know other couples with due dates within a few weeks of us. Knowing that we were all in this together and ready to share and support each other from the start was invaluable. This sense of community has been a cornerstone of our experience. I found that we connected with each other really quickly, and the bond strengthened over time.
We couldn't be more thankful for the Green Street Social Foundation program and the community it has helped us build.”
